N.M. Mathieu is an artist who approaches her work with deep tenderness and attention, embodying technical mastery and a philosophical reflection on life. She strives to create art that touches the human soul, evokes emotions, and encourages contemplation. Her love for color and experiments with form and texture reflect her tireless search for new means of expression and her constant curiosity and openness to the world.

N.M. Mathieu's creative journey is marked by a gradual transition from figurative art to abstraction. Since 1997, her use of dry pastels has allowed her to become a colorist, exploring various forms and textures. Her abstract works demonstrate a deep focus on color, which she applies in layers using a palette knife and the back of the brush, creating complex and refined textures.

Over time, her style has taken on elements of Action Painting, inspired by works she observed in museums in San Francisco during her studies. She utilizes plexiglass, glass, and mirrors, adding transparency and light reflections to her pieces. Her creativity unites movement dynamics and the play of light, creating a sense of constant change.

In addition to her artistic achievements, N.M. Mathieu actively participates in charitable events. She has donated her works to auctions to raise funds for earthquake victims in Haiti and to support young talents through the Nelson Mandela Foundation's initiatives.
